The Ridgecrest Musical Enrichment Society is pleased to announce that we are having open auditions for Disney’s Mary Poppins!
 

SHOW SYNOPSIS:
Mary Poppins is a Broadway musical based on the beloved books by P.L. Travers and the the classic Disney film, blending timeless songs like “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “Step in Time,” and “A Spoonful of Sugar” with new music and an expanded storyline. Set in Edwardian London, it follows the magical nanny Mary Poppins as she arrives at No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane to help the troubled Banks family rediscover joy, imagination, and the importance of connection. With whimsical adventures, magical characters, and dancing chimney sweeps, the show captures the heart and charm of the original tale while adding theatrical spectacle and emotional depth for audiences of all ages.

If you are interested in a non-singing role (dancer, orchestra, tech, or production team), fill out the audition form and indicate your preference in the "Interested in" section. Dancers must attend the dance audition.

DATES & TIMES: 

If you can’t make the audition dates, you can request a private audition by messaging us on Facebook or contacting us through the website. We’ll set up a time before official auditions.
 

Friday, May 30th, 2025

Voice (All ages) from 4:30pm-8:30pm

Notes: (1) If you are unable to attend day 1 of auditions, you can submit a video of yourself singing. See the Audition Requirements below for complete details. (2) Kids (Ages 9-16) being considered for a lead/speaking role OR as part of the adult ensemble may be called to day 2 of auditions.

Dance/Cold Reading (Ages 17+) at 2:00pm-6:00pm

Note: Wear comfortable clothes.

Callbacks (if needed) at 6:00pm until done

Note: The directors will announce who they need to call back following the end of the dance/cold reading portion of the auditions. This announcement may come by a text/email/verbal statement.
 

CAST LIST
The cast list will be emailed by Sunday, June 1st, at 6:00pm. Those cast in the show will need to respond ASAP to let directors know whether they’ve accepted the part(s) they’ve been offered. The cast list may also be posted on the RMES Facebook and website at a later point.
 

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
Rehearsals will begin on Monday, June 2nd, and run up to the performances. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be posted at the audition site.

PERFORMANCE DATES:  

5 Performances: August 15, 16, 22, & 23 (including an Aug. 23 matinee)
